The results of the research developed by Contec Engineering about “BIM Building Information Modeling” on the approach to the project of recovery of existing buildings, were published in an article presented at WSEAS (Word Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society) www.wseas.org.
The research was divided into 3 phases:
• analysis of the state-of-the-art in the field of evaluation of the interoperability of software and BIM (IFC standard);
• generation of a 3D BIM model of a former building inside the Ex Austrian Arsenal in Verona;
• test related to: production of final and executive project from the 3D model, automatic calculation, seismic verification of the structures, energy analysis, security, and time / cost of the construction site, possibility of use of the model as information support for the facility and building management.
The research was correlated with the main level of theoretical and methodological references.
Following the publication of the WSEAS, Contec Engineering was invited to present a further extension of the research for publication in the scientific journal NAUN (North Atlantic University Union) www.naun.org confirming the relevance of the topics covered.
